STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL (SRC) [EXECUTIVE MANIFESTO]

Present at the SRC EXECUTIVE ASPIRANTS MANIFESTO held Friday, 3rd September, 2021 are: Mr. Bankole (Dean of Students' Affairs), Mr. Ayanwole Emmanuel (The School Bursar), Miss Olaniyi (Dean of Arts & Humanities), Mr. Taofeek (Dean of BMS), Comrade Adefolakan (a.k.a. Iganranmewa), Mr. Ademola Emmanuel (ICT Department), Grace Olaniyan (From Adron Homes & Properties) AND of course, The Electoral Committee Members and Students across HARVARDE respective Departments... were also in attendance to hear from the SRC EXECUTIVE ASPIRANTS.

AHMED ABIODUN

I AHMED ABIODUN (Triple A), an aspirant for the post of SRC SPORT DIRECTOR wishes to use sports as a communication tool to improve good relationship among the student.

Furthermore, to improve the standards and level of sports as whole in the institution. Moreso explain how to achieve his aims and objectives to Improve the state of football by bringing in more challenges through external competition (eg milo) through this, we will increase the school reputation their by increasing the goodwill and then Through the coming departmental games (indoor and board games) intend to bring out some set of students whom we will give more training so as to represent the school in tournaments organized at the state and Higher level.

In addition Also bringing in sports that will bring gender balance (eg volley ball) , he cap it all , if voted in, with the help of the school management and other external source, we will equip the school with more sporting facilities (e.g a Table Tennis board among others).

NOSIRU JEREMIAH O.

Hi, my name is NOSIRU JEREMIAH O. and I'm running for the office of the SRC PRESIDENT because I have a vision of putting Africa at the center of the world so I see our great citadel of learning as our own immediately Nigeria where we can start to effect the change.

My experience and skills

I have served at the SRC and the faculty Level

100L - Head of School (BMS)

200L - SRC Vice President and Acting BMS Faculty President

- Chairman, Nurses week planning committee

300L - BMS Faculty President

400L - BMS Faculty President

- Chairman, Medical week planning committee - 2021

And I have developed crisis management skills, Negotiation skill and the basic principles of leadership over the years

What I plan to do if elected

If elected I would aim to:

1. Address issues that concerns students harassments in any form, improper handling of students, unnecessarily roughandling students in any form

2. Hold series of events eg Sports, shows, leagues etc through that we can archive that exposure and global perception we have always craved for as students, coupled with the fact that we have the capacity to write to cooperate bodies and our events will be sponsored.

3. Holding academic seminars and conferences across the four faculties ( social and management sciences, arts and humanities, Science and engineering and basic medical sciences) which will involve the major industry leaders, this will expose students to the labour market/ employment even before graduation.

4. Intensify More on the welfarism if the students, we'll come up with Programmes that can enable students to make money online even as an undergraduate and for the entrepreneurs among us, We'll prepare platforms for effective advertisement and learning of copywriting skills which will improve their sales

5. Address the subject "corruption" we frown at corruption of every kind, we'll tackle this with a system I call the 4E system

E- educate students about anticorruption advocacy

E - Examplary leadership, we'll lead by example (do as I do not do as I say)

E- Empowerment

E- enforcement of the law

OLASUPO OYINDAMOLA SYLVESTER (Teddy) aspiring for the post of SRC AUDITOR, 200L I'm inquisitive unbiased, truthful, diligent, efficient and other great attribute of greatness With all sincerity of heart aspiring to represent the students as an ‘Auditor’ within the Incoming SRC members in making a transparent and accountable administration of the council.

However, Investigating instances of possible fraud (even those considered immaterial) and furthermore, Ensuring that the organization is complying with relevant laws and statutes, Validating checks and balances, Evaluating whether student funds were used according to the mandate associated with the funds, Reviewing and verifying the accuracy of financial records and budgets moreso, Highlighting any discrepancies in accounting.

Communicating, consulting and consolidating with accounting students to promote development of the council accountancy .As a legal learned persona who understands what constitution and jurisdiction means with experience of accounting, I pledge to ensure ultimate transparency and plain accounting statements independently!

ROLEOLA DAMILOLA

WHO IS ROLEOLA DAMILOLA (Omochief) ?

Roleola Damilola is a unique student in his early 20s studying Mass Communication in Harvarde College. He has been privileged to be the HOC of his department from year 1 till date (year 3), this actually introduced him to true leadership.

Omochief is not the regular leader you know, everything he does is dynamic. He is diligent and Suave, He listens to his pairs, a few time he uses the iron fist, he is self corrective, benevolent and then he brings pride to his people.

Even while overwhelmed with leadership roles in the department and faculty, Roleola Damilola still brought pride to his people by being the best Student in Arts and humanities 2019 and by the grace of God, he has retained that title and now he has been awarded a full tuition fee scholarship.

He now aspires for the post of the SRC PRESIDENT for 2021 in Harvarde College.

With Roleola Damilola as the SRC PRESIDENT, you can expect the following:

* Representatives that ask the right questions for clarification.

* A cabinet where others are allowed to perform the functions they are elected for.

* An accountable government where funds are not misappropriated.

* A government that reaches out to Students for suggestions and to know their timely desires

* A social and academically inclined leader.

* Diplomatic Representation at managerial levels with irresistible persuasion (negotiation is settling for less).

* A strong resistance against Landlord oppression and all other external oppression.

* Connection with other citadels of learning and organisation.

Departmentalism is a barrier to the future. Shun departmentalism and embrace the future of Unionism... No one is worth your vote because they came from your Faculty because when they eventually fail, people will ascribe the blame to the department of such a leader.
