MANIFESTO, THE ROAD THAT LEADS TO ELECTION TRIUMPHANCY
As the saying goes "none of us is as smart as all of us", it was a great combative scenario on Monday, August 30 2021, as aspirants of vying for different post in the faculty of Arts and Humanities of Harvarde College of Science , Business and Management Studies, Obada-Oko Abeokuta as they manifested their manifestos.
Present at the event were the supposed electoral committee, the Dean of student affairs, the Dean of the Faculty, HOD of Public Administration, Comrade Adefolakan, Mr Omolokun in which all were present to ensure the success of the event.
ODUKOYA MODUPE ESTHER |
Opening the floor was a once general secretary of Art and Humanities , ODUKOYA MODUPE ESTHER of Public Administration 300L aspiring for the post of Treasurer of the faculty. She gave the students her words that if voted for, she will ensure effective transparency and accountability, assist in fund raising, support other EXCOs in carrying out the duties. Furthermore, she will promote effective information by analyzing financial statements to both the EXCOs and the students. She also added that she will prevent extravagant spending or irrelevant spending with the act of keeping the faculty funds.
ADEDAPO ADEBOWALE |
Following suit was a 200L Mass communication student , ADEDAPO ADEBOWALE aspiring for the post of the vice president. He voiced out by promising to create an effective structure in passing an information timely from the management to the student to digest. He added, "I stand as a body to resolve all conflict and moreso, I realised lots of unbalanced system in our sporting activities so therefore as an adoring candidate I promise to act on reviving the sport activities such as football , table tennis etc". He concluded by saying he's not alone but working together with his colleagues and can assure a better success.
OSIJIRIN FATIMA |
Stepping on the stage was another 200L Mass Communication student, OSIJIRIN FATIMA aspiring for the post of welfare director. Manifested with the saying "I will serve as the voice of the voiceless, of the people and of the Art and Humanities Faculty". She said she will ensure the student welfarism is not jeopardized and bastardized. As the saying goes (HEALTH IS WEALTH ), she added that she will ensure the great faculty environment will always be in a good condition, she will ensure setting agenda of continuity which is the act of promoting the good work of her predecessor and ensure administration held positively in the faculty. She finally and conclusively said she will ensure she works hand in hand with other executives of the faculty to carry out and perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
BAKARE ZAINAB ADEGBOLU |
BAKARE ZAINAB ADEGBOLU aspiring for the post of general secretary promise to empower the student voice. The key to an effective leader is listening to the student and working towards their issues. Moreso to create relationship between student and EXCOs through one on one interaction and ensuring meeting are effectively organized and minuted. To cap it all, maintaining effective record and administration.
SHADARE OLAYINKA |
SHADARE OLAYINKA aspiring for the post of sport director also gave his aims and objectives as to provide various sporting activities tailored to member preference, organise, plan and coordinate any sporting event within the faculty. Collaborating with other faculty for sporting meet-up, organising friendly sport matches with other institutions in collaboration with the S.R.C. sport director he said, will not be left out of his duties. "I am responsible, passionate, efficient, open minded and attentive" he added.
ISIAKA HABEEB KAYODE |
Among other contestants came an eloquent student, ISIAKA HABEEB KAYODE of Mass Communication 300l vying for the post of president with a promise to revive unity in the faculty. He added that from his observation, he could conclude that lots of student poor performance are not only mentally based but also financial instability and this made him give his words that "I don't stand to pay up student levy but stands to impact a change with the help of the Dean".
FADUGBA OLUWATOBI PAUL |
FADUGBA OLUWATOBI PAUL (FOP) aspiring for the post of assistant General secretary, promises to contribute ideas for the promotion of the faculty and to protect and promote not only the interest of the faculty but also to build and develop all department under the faculty.
ADENUGA AMOS ADEOYE |
Another good orator, ADENUGA AMOS ADEOYE aspiring for the post of president, has promised to shape out the view of the faculty in order to promote effiency, to ensure that the students' performance rate high in public and to help the faculty in vocational skills.
EMMANUEL FAVOUR |
EMMANUEL FAVOUR aspiring for the post of Auditor, promise an honest looking into the financial content to ensure accuracy, ensuring there is no mismanagement of funds in provision of financial content.
AKERELE VICTORIA |
AKERELE VICTORIA aspiring for the post of welfare director, promise to support student, socially and mentally with creation of platform to ensure a balance communication between the S.R.C and the student, invitation of motivational speaker to talk and inspire the student on welfarism. Also, ensuring a proper dressing manner in the school in compatibility with the saying "the way you are dressed is the way you will be addressed".
SPARKLE SYBIL TAIWO |
SPARKLE SYBIL TAIWO aspiring for the post of P.R.O (public relation officer) also said promote the faculty's interest and manage crisis. She added, "as a media person, my aim is to go in search of beneficiary opportunities and place them to my people".
SHOFELA WASIU |
SHOFELA WASIU aspiring for the post of sport director, gave the students her word by saying he will work to enable a wider participation in sport to accommodate and involve those interested in sport. He added that he will work with the S.R.C and students to determine how we can promote sporting system and impact positive sport experience in the faculty which will enable us to set clear and achievable Goal".
RAJI EMMANUEL |
Giving his humble speech, RAJI EMMANUEL aspiring for the post of president, proposed his plan and agenda as to help student build academical and career excellent. He added that his administration on academic base will also inject social activities and upbring tutorials to enhance student academic performance.
OGUNNIKE OLUWATOBI |
OGUNNIKE OLUWATOBI aspiring for the post of P.R.O 2 also promise to represent the faculty and work tirelessly towards her goodwill.
ELIZABETH OLAJIDE |
ELIZABETH OLAJIDE aspiring for the post of P.R.O 2 promises to ensure information adequacy. To make sure there is an absolute circulation of information. She added the she's an outspoken person with confidence, so she's promising to help and work in hand and with the P.R.O 1 towards the success of the faculty.
MR. BANKOLE (Dean of Students' Affairs) |
Dean of student affairs, Mr bankole render a hand of appreciation to the school management and students. Furthermore, a say of gratitude to Comrade Adefolakan commonly called Iganranmewa, Mr irabour, Mr omolokun and Miss Bukola for their wonderful presentation and cap it all with a tone of advice to all aspirant to caution against hasty decision and watchful of steps to be taken. He proceeded with his saying that both the school and the electoral committee are still running underground investigation on every aspirants and any aspiring candidate found wanton even a day to the election is possible to be disqualified. So therefore all students should be careful of engaging in activities that might mar their image.
